On the 20th of May, Morinaga will give a special lecture at Osaka College of Music.

KOM-I, an artist temporarily back in Japan from Brazil, Hajime OISHI, a music journalist who has been pursuing Japanese folklore, and myslef will hold an event titled “The Sound for Postponing the End of the World” at SOLO in Oiso. This will be a gathering event where we will thoroughly discuss our current interests through video, slides, and sound/music.

We provided multiple materials documenting “Exploring Gong Culture of Southeast Asia: Massif and Archipelago” for the installation work “เสียงเพราะพริ้งรวมๆ กันเป็นกระจุกแต่อย่างเดียว—The beautiful sounds are all gathered together in one cluster” by elekhlekha, a Thai art collective based in New York.

Participating in the talk event ‘Engawa, spaces and voices’ with poet and cultural anthropologist Ryuta Imafuku, artist Meiro Koizumi, and curator Emmanuelle de Montgazon at the Centre for Modern Art at the Gulbekian Museum, Lisbon Portugal.
